MAKING A MOVIE ( ESO3 )

Our 3rd ESO project this term consists of making a movie.

Our group has decided to do it with the program STOP MOTION.

We have made mindmaps to organize our ideas for the story. Then, we have thought of the script and the materials and finally we have begun recording.

As soon as we have our projects we'll upload them in the blog

TRAVELLING THE US THROUGH TV SERIES ( 4th ESO - ENGLISH PROJECT )

We have already finished our 4th ESO English project "Travelling the US through TV series"

Here you have some of the photos of their presentations and some of
our students comments about it!

We are so glad they enjoyed it.

" We have been working on an English project to learn more about the USA in a different way, through TV series (...) We chose How I met your mother. We looked for the places that appear on the series: Columbia University, The Empire States (...). It was so interesting because we have learnt through a thing we love: the US series!"

MARIA MAROTO

" The project was about learning new things about the heritage and the cities of the USA. The first thing we did was choosing a series, my group selected Castle. (...) I have liked the project because finding out where the episodes of our favourite series were filmed has been an exciting experience"

JÚLIA ANTICH

"My group and I explores NYC through the series Friends. (...) I had so much fun searching for locations, facts and history of one of my favourite places in the world".

MARIA ROMERO

" The students of 4th ESO made a project  in English about series like Big Bang Theory, Vampire Diaries, Friends ... The project consisted of a touristic route through the city where each series was settled or based on.  It was an original and amazing project that everyone loved and we really learnt a lot"

GISELA CAPSIR

" 4th ESO students have done a really interesting and original project that I loved and enjoyed because it was about series. Imagine yourself doing a project about the series that you like and enjoying where it was filmed, it was just perfect!
The project was concretely about explaining the setting of some of the most popular American series such as The Walking Dead, Friends, Gossip Girl ... We chose The Big Bang Theory setting, I think that everyone worked  hard and I'm very proud of the result"

RAMON VENTURA.

" We made a project based on TV series. Each group had to choose one series, complete a worksheet about what the series tells, then, explain a little bit about the protagonists and antagonists and finally make a little short tour of five places to visit where the series was set and filmed.
It has been an interesting project. I personally enjoy all series (...) and I'm really proud of the work we have all done. I recommend the same project for other years"

ROBERT BATLLORI

" Since I heard our teacher explaining this project, I knew I would absolutely like it. (...)
In my opinion, the best part of  project is the freedom that we were given. We could do whatever we wanted as long as the topic was related to what the teacher had asked.
On the other hand, we work with ease and efficiency within the group (... ) I wouldn't change anything of the project. It was great"

SIMON SHAFRAZYAN

" During a week our students of 4th ESO have been working on a creative project. The objective was to discover the USA through the settings of TV series such as Gossip Girl, Friends, The Walking Dead, Vampire Diaries ... The results have been amazing! They have made wonderful posters and presentation. The students have worked  very good and well-organized with their partners"

RECOMMENDING A TV SERIES Quim G. (2nd ESO)

SCORPION VS SHERLOCK

I think you like the series Sherlock but I think it’s better the series Scorpion and you will enjoy it the most. I will tell you why:

First of all you have to know that Scorpion is a series about a team formed by the most gifted people in the world, each one with a different ability, like being a human calculator, the best mechanic or a psychologist. But the most clever in the team is Walter O’Bryan with a coefficient of 197.

Then, both series are about criminal cases but Sherlock it’s more about the past, and Scorpion more about the present. Sherlock is not as funny as Scorpion and also is more intriguing and fascinating than Sherlock.

The cases of Scorpion are more exaggerated than the ones of Sherlock, thing that makes the series more interesting and enjoyable.

Both are about gifted people but in Scorpion is the whole team and in Sherlock there is only one, that’s Sherlock Holmes, both of the captains are so clever and intelligent, but Walter O’Bryan is more clever than Sherlock, but Sherlock has a sixth sense that makes him so intelligent.

The series Scorpion is shorter and has fewer episodes than Sherlock, but is because Sherlock is slower than Scorpion, and sometimes it’s more boring.

Finally you have to know that in Scorpion there is more variety of cases than in Sherlock, because sometimes in Sherlock the cases are so similar.

Definitely I think Scorpion is less boring than Sherlock, because it have so much action and you will enjoy it a lot, I hope you start to see it.

RECOMMENDING A TV PROGRAMME Joan A. (2 ESO)

ESTÀ PASSANT

Hello,

I want to show you a TV programme which I love and if you are not watching it you should do it because it is very good and  I am sure you would like like it. I suppose that you like a TV programme which is called Polonia and I think that Està Passant is as good as Polonia or even better.
I am sure you  know who Toni Soler is because he is Polonia's director so he is also the presenter of  Està Passant, the other two presentators are Oscar Andreu and Jair Domínguez.

I also think that you would like that programme because they talk about politics, the main news and also about strange news always giving a bit of  humor to the situation. Està Passant is also better than Polonia because it is a kind of TV News and it is not many parodie sketches, many Polonia parodies are good but we must accept that some of them are terrible.

You can watch Està Passant from Monday to Friday every night at 20.15 at TV3. Another thing that I like and I think you would like too is that at the end of the programme, they always talk with the audience via Twitter and it is very funny. I hope you will watch that TV  programme.

FAMOUS BRITISH COUPLES - John Mc Dowell Award!!!!

We are so proud to tell you that one of our projects has won the  second prize of the JOHN MC DOWELL AWARD for the best school project.

It was our 2nd ESO project about FAMOUS BRITISH COUPLES done by our current 3rd ESO students last year. They investigated about important British people, dead or alive, real or ficticious, of the world of art, literatury, history, cinema, music, ... and they made posters about them and dialogues between them. A nice work, really.

In the opening ceremony of this year's APAC convention at Universitat Pompeu Fabra we have received the award from Ms Vibeke Asbjorsen, current director from the British Council in Barcelona and Ms Àngels Oliva, president of the APAC.

THANK YOU TO ALL 3rd ESO STUDENTS FOR YOUR EXCELLENT WORK!
