JORNADES CHALLENGES. ELCOLLELL Robert B. (1 BATX B)

EL COLLELL
During 3 days and 3 nights the students of 1 high school have been able to enjoy extraordinary days, outside of class, where we had done many activities.
Depending on the type of activity we were going to do, I showed more emotion or less. First of all, we took the bikes and we went on a route through the forest. The bad thing is that we did the same route as 3 years ago but as I like to do exercise, I had a good time. A curious fact is that as I and another partner were getting bored we decided that he would grab my handlebar and I his, at first everything was correct but suddenly he threw himself at me and with his left hand he squeezed the brake causing my fall, which by the way nothing serious happened to me.
Another activity that we did was laser tag, which for my taste I would have preferred to do it at night, because it would cause a greater risk to win. Although it is also true that the pistols did not work very well.
Later, we ride a horse, it was my first time so I was very excited and at the same time a little scared because I did not know what reactions my horse could have, which by the way was called “Boira”. We were half an hour guiding each one to his horse and when it was over time we went to do archery. I had never tried it and the truth is that it was pretty good for me. The training in the Wii paid off.
The next day, we got on the quads that are like motorcycles but for mountain. We did a couple of laps for a fairly small route but enough because I almost went out of the circuit. With some colleagues we were talking that we would have liked much more if they had given us a quad to each one and if they had left us free by the forest. Surely something would happen to someone, but we would have loved to try this experience.
In the afternoon, we met in groups and we had to, with the help of a map and a compass, follow a path through the forest using the compass and the signs to guide us. Personally, it was one of the activities that I liked the most along with the equestrian.
And the next day, we went up to what is called the adventure park, which are different tests that you have to overcome about 6-7 meters above the ground and with the help of harnesses and pulleys. The truth is that I liked it a lot even though I would have liked it to be more complex and longer, but the little time I was there was enough to enjoy the views.
It's not that I did not like any activity, but I'm very demanding with sports and I like to do my best.
Leaving aside this topic, this coexistence has helped me to deal with people who I had very little treatment or I did not have it directly. So, if the purpose of this coexistence was to have a good time, enjoy the activities and meet colleagues who I did not have so much treatment, I can say that I have achieved it.

JORNADES CHALLENGES. EL COLLELL. Sandra S. (1r BATX A)

JORNADES CHALLENGE IN “EL COLLELL”

I’ve just arrived home and I’m currently lying on the sofa, I’m exhausted because we’ve spent 3 days in “El Collell” and we’ve done so many activities.

First of all, I would like to say the thing I’ve liked the most is the way all the classmates have got along, these days have been really useful to strengthen our friendship.

We have stayed in a big house, well prepared to do camps and activities, situated near Banyoles. The house was huge and we had a lot of space to play, to talk and to spend a great time with our friends. In addition, we’ve done several out door activities, such as quads, football, tree climbing, cycling, death slides, horse riding...

Our teachers prepared some activities too, with the aim of knowing more our classmates and discovering new things from each other. We also had to start thinking about the “Treball de Recerca”, which I think it will be quite difficult to choose the topic. Although I got a little bit confused while teachers were explaining this work, I had a really nice time there and I would repeat it without any doubt.

We’ve spent a nice time surrounded by our friends, classmates and teachers and we’ve done some mad things, for instance, Raquel, Abril and me had a bath in a cold river. Here I attach some nice pics about our stay there!

My experience in El Collell

Last week my grade went to “el Collell” for a school trip. We did some physical activities like bicycles, quads and zip-lines and also we have done two sessions of research project work. I had a great time, because I liked the activities and I was with my friends. Also, we skipped some classes so, what else to request?

For me, the best part of the trip was quads. First I was afraid of the machine, because once I was driving a quad and I almost fell in a bend, so from that moment I used to say: -I hate machines with an engine. But Claudia encouraged me to get on the quad and try one more time. And guess what, I didn’t fall, or died. Nothing wrong happened, instead, now I love quads!

Also, I liked a lot the circuits in the trees, because in the holidays I always go one or two days with my family to these kind of parks, so I have practice. And I love to see people trying to pass the difficult parts, especially Hector C. and Adria, my maths teacher. It was very funny for me! But at the same time it was a bit boring, because I found very easy.

The teachers were so nice, taking photos all the time, so I wish that the Italian trip next year will be as cool as this, or even more.

FAKE NEWS. Martí Molina (3r ESO)

A NEW PROBLEM: FAKE NEWS

On Monday 15th, the medium and low English level classes went to Sant Andreu library to a small talk organized by the Barcelona Town Hall and the American Spaces about fake news. At the hall, there was a girl that came here to talk to us about fake news and answer our questions. She was called Geysha and started the explanation explaining us about their studies and jobs.

First, she told us a story about English, French and German people that lived on an island and they received the newspaper one time every two months. The First World War started and the newspaper arrived on the island three weeks later and they were very affected by this situation and started trying to solve this problem. Later, she tells us the difference between fake news that are things that you don't think they are true and disinformation that is news that tell us things that aren't true and sometimes used for political benefits or other personal objectives.
In 2014, Russia sent Russian soldiers to Ukraine to conquer the cities on the North. There were messages organized by the Kremlin that tell that Ukraine people started a revolt to his folk and, later, they discovered that this was false and Russia was attaching Ukraine. Another example that Keisha tells us is America for Puppies, that consists in to attract people with beautiful dogs and, slowly, put in the photos political messages to help Trump to win votes.
Another group of people created American for Cats that is the opposite space of American for Cats. She told us that usually, on Instagram, Facebook or in other social media this news expands very fast and the people that have to quit this news arrive when the notice has become popular. On the Trump campaign of 2016 to choose the new president of USA, there was news about sexual relations from Trump and his candidates. About Hillary, they said that Bill Clinton, her husband and ex-president of USA, he got sexual relations with girls and when people see that notices, some of them started to do news about sexual scandals of the contrary candidate that they support. She answered our questions with examples like the ones I wrote before. We don' t understand her accent so much so she continued explaining with her Puerto Riqueño Spanish. We didn't ask a lot of questions but she answered them very effusive and detailed.

At 11:00, Geysha answered two more question and we returned to the school. This talk has helped us to the difference and to recognize a false new and to difference concepts apart from the utility for me and for all, I suppose. I would like that she put more actual examples but I liked so much how she explainedit all and all the things she knows about some themes.
