The Internet. Laura M. (2n batx A)

‘Click’ has changed our lives

First of all and to begin with, Internet has, undoubtedly, changed our way to live. As a matter of fact, actual society has Internet in their houses, which is, probably, one of the most useful things in our nowadays life. But, however, it has advantages and disadvantages. Up to a certain point, we can find almost everything we search for, such as some particular information for school, work or whatever hobby we have. This means leaving books, encyclopaedias, etcetera, behind. It must be admitted that is more comfortable just to ‘click’ and have all the information in your disposition instead of looking for it in a book, which needs more time and patience.

Secondly, we often do not, for instance, meet our friends while we are not on holidays. So, therefore, we can use Internet to chat with them. What’s more if there’s distance in-between, in which is the only way to have contact with your friends.

Consequently, we stopped buying and reading books. We have, most of them, online, likewise E-books and that kind of things, which are being very popular.

As a whole, we are, frankly, forgetting real pleasures, such as reading real books, spending time, face to face, with our friends and so on. This is the biggest disadvantage of Internet, being less sociable to find easier, faster and, possibly, more efficiently, information that we search for.
