Merry Christmas
If you go out to the street
those days, you can see all the shops full of people, lots of Christmas lights
in every street and people carrying bags and presents. But if you pay attention
and you watch the news, everything is going as always: wars, corruption,
criminality in the streets rising, burglaries, poorness, ...
Where is the real Christmas spirit? Is consumerism the true Christmas sense? We have forgotten the real Christmas meaning: being happy with few things and making people around you smile.
You can do all these things
helping people with some little details, like picking up a wallet that has just
fallen from somebody’s pocket and giving it instead of keeping the wallet and
getting the money. That kind of gestures make Christmas has sense, not money,
presents and cute lights.
Christmas is also a period
to relax and disconnect from work and stress and enjoy your time with your
family and your friends, and that’s exactly what people don’t do. We are all
the time stressed and worried about buying presents, preparing huge dinners for
all the family, the money we will have to spend in our Christmas shopping, and
our weight after Christmas, and we finally forget about being happy, relaxed
and enjoying our life next to our family and our friends.
We have to live Christmas in
a more modest way, without lots of presents and lots of food, and staying with
our family, being nice with people around us and also living more relaxed. If
we want to feel the real Christmas spirit, we have to forget about all material
things and start being nice with people around us and helping each other, and
we will live in a better world!
