FRIENDSHIP
QUOTE
“It’s the friends you can call up at 4 am that matter”
– Marlene Dietrich
I’ve chosen this quote because I totally agree with
it. Friendship is not about how much time you spend with them, it’s neither
about how much you love a person or care about them; friendship is about being
there in every single moment, it’s basically about being happy for the others
even if you are in a sad mood. They have to know that they can count on you as
you can count on them.
It’s not the big experiences that matter; as the quote
says, it’s the fact that friends will always be there for you because that’s
what friends do. They are your second family; they’re the family that you can choose
to be in your life.
I really think that, for them, you have to be as
important as they are for you. That’s why I’ve chosen this quote; it definitely
reproduces what friendship is to me. Talking about your feelings may many times
be hard, but even if you are not the kind of person that discusses those
things, at least you have to know that in case you want to, a friend is a good
choice to talk to.
I know it’s not a long composition and it’s neither a
deep one, but that’s how I feel about friendship. I’ve been through some experiences
on that, and at the end, you learn that not everyone is there for you, even if
they have been in your life forever, not everyone will trust you above others
as you may think, so choose who you want to count on and who you want to call
up at 4 am.
