TECHNOLOGY. Héctor C. (1 BTX B)

Technology is making us all more lazy and unhealthy

Nowadays we live in a society ruled by technology. We live in a time were technology is in almost every single thing that we do. Technology creates, manipulates, organizes, improves, etc. and not only has it made our lives easier than they were supposed to be, but it is has made our lives lazier.

On the one hand, practically every aspect of our life has been surrounded by the use of technology and its advancements, leading us to being lazy and obese. For instance, some decades ago people used to stand in the kitchen preparing meal. With the invention of microwave, it has made our life a little bit easier. In fact you can just microwave a frozen dinner in just thirty minutes. As a result, people are exposed to prepare meals in a less stressful and convenient way. For these reasons it leads us to be lazy.

On the other hand, technology has increased our conditions making us healthier than we were in the past. Although some inventions have made us lazier, there are others that enhance a healthy and active life. For instance, some applications, such as sweatcoin, encourage people to get outside their homes to do some exercise. This app offers free and incredible rewards, such as IPhones, that you can obtain only for walking as more you walk, more sweatcoins will be gained and better rewards you will obtain.

To sum it up, technology reflects the human imagination. In spite of the great advances and the increase of our life conditions, we have to admit that it has made our mentality lazier. However, thanks to technology we save time and effort, and these two facts are things that nobody wants to waste.

So even though it has made humanity lazier, we have to thank how it has changed our way of making things because we can take advantage of this work and time to do other things
