Wooden Nose
There was once a boy who lived in a forest with many
other animals. He was not good with them, he used to play jokes, but they were
practical jokes. So the animals were tired and they went to visit the fairy
godmother of the forest. They explained to the fairy what was going on with the
boy, and that they couldn't continue like that. The fairy took a decision.
Quickly they went to look for the boy, and the fairy
turned his nose into a wooden nose. Obviously, the boy was not happy with his
new nose, but it had been done by the fairy, and nothing could do now the boy.
The nose would disappear if he did something good for another person, but it
would grow more and more if he didn't stop playing jokes.
The days passed, although he wasn't playing so many
jokes his nose was growing and growing, and it was bigger day after day. At the
end, he stopped playing jokes but the nose was still there. His head weighed. The
animals were happy and they asked to the fairy if she could give back his nose.
She said no. She couldn't change the spell. He must help someone, or do
something good for someone, and his nose would give back to him.
One day, the boy was walking near the river and he
heard a voice. It was a feminine voice; she was asking for help, she sounded
desperate.
Without thinking he jumped into the river and rescued
the girl. He took her to the bank and there he burned her nose so that she
could dry her clothes.
The girl thanked the boy, but she could not understand
why he had a wooden nose. Then, the fairy appeared, and she answered to the
girls' question.
-He has a wooden nose because he had been bad with the
animals, but now, he has done something good for one person, so his nose will
be given back to him.
The fairy shook her magic wand and the wooden nose
turned into a normal nose.
Now everybody was happy. The boy recovered his nose. The
fairy was pleased that everyone in her forest were friends again, the animals
and the boy. The boy felt in love with the girl who was a princess.
After all, the boy had a happy ending, his nose was
with him again, and he had met a beautiful princess.
