“JE SUIS CHARLIE”
Many years ago was set that all men and women were absolutely able to
have their own opinion on anything and to say it out loud, always with respect
for the other side.
So what now? I thought that was pretty clear but it seems that nowadays
people are starting to forget about it. Everyday are coming out news about
people who have been curbed while defending their point of view on something.
That’s what happened few days ago in Paris. Some Muslims attempted at
the journalists of this French magazine: “Charlie Hebdo”. It all ended up with
twelve of the writers and drawers from the magazine dead, including the head of
the group. It was all caused because of a cover that Charlie Hebdo published.
This magazine tries to dress up the world news with a little bit of humour by
drawing funny scenes in which all ideologies are exposed.
This problematic cover was about Muslim religion. I totally get how
people can get hurt or upset from jokes about religion but terrorism and
killing it’s definitely not the way to handle it.
Apart from the sad mood that has been these days all over Paris, many
countries around the world have recently sent some of their representatives to
Paris to assist at the protest that are being organised in order to show their
side about the facts.
The main point here is that freedom of speech is being supressed by some
radical terrorists that are doing the same they are killing for. Every extreme
is bad so, probably journalists had many different ways to express an opinion
and, on the other side, the people against the published cover should have
never reacted like they did, that was so out of place.
