My New Year's Resolutions
I've always found silly
to do New Year's Resolutions, but great to do resolutions. I feel strongly that
making some days special doesn't make us realize that life happens day by day.
Why do we give to our loved people presents on the pre-establish days? Why do we
celebrate Valentine's Day, birthdays, New Year, thanksgiving, Christmas...? Why are we obssessed with dates? Why is New Year important if it is just a day on
the calendar and even having that in mind, not all the countries change of year
the same day. Nothing changes in one day. In one day, furniture gets dusty, the
temperature could be a degree lowest, the fridge is a little bit more empty,
but our hair doesn't really grow, the season doesn't change, we don't stop
seeing our childhood friend, and there's no apartments builts where it used to
be a park, and, in conclusion, our life don't change. Why then, we decide to
make a day, unavoidably,
more decisive?
With this in mind, why
do we make resolutions every time that a year starts? Most of the time, we
don't accomplish our objectives. We use to leave the gym two months later and
our diets too. I mean, sometimes we feel we have the obligation to do some
things. We get gretting cards from people that doesn't talk to us in the whole
year. I wouldn't like to be misunderstood, Greetings, presents, familiar
lunches, holidays, everything of that, is great. I just don't understand why we
don't give presents, do meetings, and show our gratitude to our loved people
during the whole year.
In
conclusion, we should thank to our family, friends, couple and all the people
around us every day of our life, and give them presents, only because we want
to do it, not because a special date, and don't give so much meening to a day
that, in the end, is just a day.
