MALALA YOUSAFZAI-NOBEL PEACE PRIZE 2014. David A. (1BATX B)

MALALA YOUSAFZAI-NOBEL PEACE PRIZE 2014

It is universally known Malala Yousafzai is the Nobel Peace prize 2014 beside Kailash Satyarthi. The prize will be given on December 10th in Stockholm, Sweden.

At first sight, Malala Yousafzai is a simple Pakistani student; notwithstanding, she has such an awesome story behind her. I could explain her life; nevertheless, it would be a bit boring from my point of view, so as I see it, writing a reflection about the education is more pleasant and enjoyable.

To begin with, do we have a good education? Personally, I don’t think so… We’ve been learning the rivers of Spain or the mounts as the same way that our parents and grandparents did. Years ago, they didn’t have any type of technology or any gadgets that helped them, otherwise nowadays…

Oh dear, we have at our disposal any kind of information in a second, it’s just searching on the internet what we want to know and we get it! It’s fabulous, isn’t it? Well, it’s not indeed. This life, is hard and difficult and this won’t be an exception. The problem is that we don’t know at all how to introduce all this technology and resources properly. We can use technology as an information source and a useful support tool, likewise such as a dangerous weapon. As far as I’m concerned, the first thing that we should change is the way of teaching, for instance: It would be fine, that the teacher explained the lesson with a PPT or using any kind of recourse at the same time that he or she is explaining us the geography of Russia, for instance, I have to say that, of course, there are a minority that teaches that way, or implement more the English at school, right now you need it for all, maths in English or chemistry would be awesome. Listening to somebody speaking English also helps you so much to improve your pronunciation and your fluency. There are a thousand things that we should change by the way… But, to be honest, in my view they won’t change at least in a short term.

I’d like to conclude by giving all my congratulations to Malala Yousafzai and Kailash Satyarthi, also I would like to know the opinion of my teacher about that reflection; undoubtedly, there are lots of opinions about that topic and all of them are valid and correct, of course!
