Democrats vs. Republicans
This Monday we went to Can Fabra library to assist
at a talk organized by the library about the US politics. So, last Friday we
looked for some information about the two big parties at the USA to know at
least something of what we were going to listen on Monday.
When we arrived at the library, we entered to the
auditorium, where we sat, once everyone was prepared a woman appeared and
explained us a little bit about the talk we were ready to listen.
Then, the 2 members of the two big parties in USA, Democrats and Republicans, presented themselves, the lady was part of the
Republican’s campaign for these 2016 elections, and the other man was part of
the Democrat campaign. I have to say that I was very surprised when they said
that they were part of the parties, because I thought that there would be just
2 current people talking about politics.
The talk lasted about one hour, when they had finished
it was time for questions, so some of our classmates asked them some questions
about the US politics in general, the questions could be in English or in
Spanish because the two political members were from South-America or they parents
were from a Latin country.
Finally, I enjoyed the talk, at the beginning I
thought it was a little bit boring, but when it got more dynamic I started
enjoying it more, and I personally found really interesting and curious when at
the final we voted having in mind the things they had explained us.
