Why can't I be an extrovert? Or do I need to be more sociable? these are thoughts that introverted people make throughout their lives at many times.
As Susan Cain said in her ted talk “The power of introverts”, our world has three types of people: introverts, extroverts and ambiverts. But nowadays although we have been fighting not to exclude diversity, few people have remembered this issue. As a consequence, many people and entities have the perpetual stigma that extroverts are better than introverts and this isn't true!
In my opinion, I totally agree with Mrs. Susan, each person is different and that is why you don’t have to follow the same method, neither to work nor to live. Introversion is finding comfort in one’s self, they don't require social stimulation like an extrovert. They "recharge" by having alone time, doing things by themselves, and that's fine.
I am an introvert, and I function on my own. I go to school, I have extracurricular and I live happy. And yes, I express myself perfectly fine, just not nearly as forwardly outspoken unless I think it’s necessary but that doesn’t at all mean I am incapable.
In conclusion, we shouldn’t deny to people to have their own character, because the only thing we achieve is that the person feels oppressed and it would be less creative.
