INFORMING OR DEFORMING? Enric I. (2 BTX B)

INFORMING OR DEFORMING?

Is it possible that we, on an attempt of being informed, are being tricked? Every day, we receive a huge amount of information from newspapers, TV programmes and Internet. But, do we get truthful news? Who can guarantee us what we are reading is real and it’s not a fake or manipulated story?

It is already known every newspaper and TV channel has a different ideology. We are conscious we are not reading or hearing the entire truth. This should bother us, but anyone of us actually changes the channel to see what other people may think about the same issue. And that is probably the reason, or one of them, why our country is still stuck in two-party predominance. Not a single one of the new ideas is going to prospect if we are not willing to hear it.

Another problem revolves around international conflicts. We live in a world mostly dominated by capitalism where money is the only thing that actually matters. Behind every headline there is an unconceivable number of influences, interests and pressures. The truth is delicate and complicated, and the world leaders can’t allow everybody to know everything.

Sadly, mass media give us a scant of contradictory information and keeps us far away from the real actuality. For this reason, we can assure they have stopped informing us about the reality and started deforming it.
