DIVERGENT
It was difficult to choose one film to recommend you because I’m not sure about what type of films you like. Divergent is a science-fiction film but it has a love story too, so I think you might like it.
The film is set in the future in Chicago. The society is different and there are five factions. When people turn sixteen they have to choose which faction they want to belong to. The main characters are Beatrice and Four. Beatrice was born in the Abnegation faction, the selfless one, but when she does the aptitude test, it turns out that she belongs to more than one faction, meaning she is a divergent. When she chooses to which faction she wants to belong to, she chooses Dauntless, the brave one, where she meets Four. He is a divergent too but we don’t know it until Erudite faction, the intelligent one, tries to take control of the society and start a war.
The plot is gripping and the pace is fast because a lot of events happen in a very short period of time. The performance of the actors is incredibly good and Shailene Woodly (Beatrice) and Theo James (Four) have a wonderful on-screen chemistry. The special effects are outstanding and fascinating.
The message of the film is that you can be whoever you want to be. Not only have you to be one thing, but you can be interesting, brave, honest, peaceful and selfless at the same time.
