WHAT'S HAPPENING LATELY IN CATALONIA?
In my opinion, Catalonia is the region in Spain most spoken about and it is
where more things happen every day. I mean, Catalonia is always appearing on the
TV news, because there’s always something to say about Catalonia.
Definitely,
the most important news these last days is the announcement of the new president
of Catalonia. Artur Mas resigned a few days ago. Carles Puigdemont is now the
President of Catalonia. This fact has been much talked about all around the world.
President Puigdemont won’t
make a declaration of independence as it is not given the necessary majority.
Duran i Lleida has just
resigned of his political party “UDC” after 29 years in it.
A few days
ago, a bicycle ride was made in Barcelona to help the environment, I mean, this
bicycle ride was made to give to the people of Barcelona a cleaner air to
breathe. This was done in the “Gran Via”, where the cars turned off their
motors for a while. A lot of cities all around the world are doing this kind of
stuff this last days. Pollution cannot win this fight.
There are
other interesting things which happened these last days. For example, two months
ago (more or less) a new movie called “Ocho apellidos catalanes” was thrown in
the cinemas. This movie has made a lot to talk in Spain, especially in
Catalonia. I can’t not recommend this movie because I haven’t watched it yet,
but I want to watch it. A lot of people recommend it because it’s a funny movie,
but they say that the previous one is better than this.
