ERASMUS+ Trip to Belgium. Jan R. (4th ESO)

MY TRIP TO BELGIUM

Last week I was working in an Erasmus project. This project consists of creating a short movie, but also to make new friends from other countries. In Belgium, we were 3 different nationalities, the Belgium students were the hosts and every one of them accommodates a different student from Norway or Spain. The project is divided into 3 parts, in Belgium, the point was to create the script, then in Spain, we will have to shoot the film, and then in Norway, we will edit it.

On Sunday 8 of March, we met at the Barcelona airport at 4:30 am. We took the plane and when we arrived at Brussels airport we met the Norwegian partners, then we both took a train. After an hour we arrived at Namur, the little city where we would stay during the project. There we met our Belgium partners and then everyone went to their houses.

On Monday it was our first day of school, I woke up at 6:30 am. When we arrived at the school the teachers explained to us how we would distribute the work during the week. We played some games and in the afternoon we started working on the project.

On Tuesday we arrived at the school and we continued working on the project because in the afternoon we would have to present our work. After presenting our works the teachers chose 5 of the 10 projects presented, and those 5 would be the ones we were going to work on. When we finished school we all went bowling and we spent a very good time.

On Wednesday we worked during the morning and in the afternoon we took a train and we went to Brussels. When we arrived there a guide was waiting for us, then we visit many things as for example the European parliament, where we saw a Catalan politician, we also visited the Grand Place, the monument of the baby peeing and some of the most important places in Brussels.

On Thursday we started working in the morning, while teachers informed us that the Norwegian partners had to return to his country because they would close all the entries because of the “coronavirus”. It was a terrible news but we should continue working on the project because in the afternoon we would have to present our final script.

On Friday I woke up as every day at 6:30 and after I had breakfast, I looked at my phone and I saw a message from our teachers that told us that we had to return to Barcelona because if not we would have problems to access because of the “coronavirus”. We all were very sad but that decision was the best for us and for our families and we had to accept it. At 3 pm we took the plane at Brussels airport and that was the end of our magnific trip.

We all had a very good experience and we are waiting to meet each other next October in Barcelona.
