Do you think English should be a universal language?
Nowadays,
the most spoken language in the world is English, so if you want to be
understandable when you go abroad, you need to have a little idea of how to
speak English.
Everybody
wants their mother tongue to be the universal one but this is impossible
because there are around 4000 languages in the world. We have to choose one of
them.
I would discard the ones that don’t have the Latin alphabet because they
are more difficult to learn. I also would discard the minority ones because
only a very tiny percent of the world population know them and it would be very
hard to expand it all over the world.
In addition, most of the students around
the world, including me, are studying English at school so is easily to incorporate
this language in the society.
In
conclusion, English should be the universal language because it is the most common
and it is relatively easy to learn.
