MALALA YOUSAFZAI and the Nobel Peace Prize 2014. Ignasi M. (1BATX A)

MALALA YOUSAFZAI

Malala is a 17 year old girl from Pakistan who has been recently awarded with the Nobel Peace Prize for her fight against suppression of the right of education to children. She was shot in the head when she was 15 because of the ideas she published in her blog, which she writes for the BBC.

I think that what Malala has done is admirable, with just 17 years she has won a Nobel Peace Prize, and with 16 years I'm actually writing about her. What I don't like about her story is that if she hadn't been shot probably nobody would have known about her and she would be just another girl that tries to fight for children and women's rights.

The problem now is that she can't live in her country, because if she does she is probably going to be in danger, Pakistan is a very sexist country and now she's very famous so anybody could reckon her.

Thanks to her probably the world will look more at this country when we talk about education and this is great, but maybe now she won't be able to have a quiet life or her acts will affect her family.
