SAVING ENERGY AT SCHOOL. Maria B. (3r ESO C)

IDEAS FOR AN ECOLOGICAL SCHOOL:

A lot of people think that for doing some little changes in their lives (like recycling), they don’t change anything, but that isn’t right! If each person contributes, even if it’s a little bit, then they will be helping for a better world.

In my school, we are contributing. Each student has to write some ideas to reduce energy consumption; these are my own ideas:

We will be an ecological school if we…

·Turn off the classes’ lights when the sun is up.
·Recycle paper, plastic, carton and bottles in the lunch time and in the break time.
·Do PE in the playground when it’s sunny instead of going to the gym and turning on the lights.
·Collect the rain water with a channel and use it for the WC water or use it for watering the plants.
·Put solar panels to use the solar energy (it’s expensive but useful).
·Put automatic sinks in the bath rooms; because if someone forgets to turn off the water, the sinks will turn off automatically.

All these ideas aren’t only to reduce energy consumption, they are also to be a better school which doesn’t waste water and which recycles a lot.
Maybe in our daily activities we waste electricity, but we can reduce it if we do some of my ideas or if we think others.
I know it will be difficult to change the structure and the functioning of all the school, but if we do it, it will be worth.
Sure that JMJ will be a perfect and an ideal school!
